Los Castillo Studio Vase with Inlay and Hammered Finish, Mexico 1970's
-
Description
This stunning silver-plated vase designed and manufactured by Los Castillo in the early 1970's.
The piece was handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico, and reflects the studio’s iconic blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The vase features a bold hammered body with sculptural ribbing and a flared neck, beautifully accented with inlaid mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, and malachite. The alternating stone panels create a striking contrast against the silver, adding depth, shimmer, and vibrant natural color.
A hallmark of mid-20th-century Mexican design, this piece is both collectible and functional—ideal as a decorative centerpiece or art object. The underside is stamped with the Los Castillo hallmark and origin marks.
