Description
This stunning Art Deco Machine Age gueridon table, crafted in France circa 1935, is an exquisite blend of bold geometry and refined materials. The table’s bookmatched walnut top showcases exceptional craftsmanship, with its grain perfectly aligned to create a balanced and symmetrical aesthetic. The rich walnut features a warm, natural tone that enhances the table’s timeless elegance.
The supports, rendered in black lacquer, exemplify classic Art Deco styling with their sleek, streamlined appearance. These glossy, angular supports provide sharp visual contrast to the natural wood, embodying the Machine Age focus on modern materials and striking lines. The combination is further accentuated by brushed nickel fittings, which lend a subtle industrial edge and metallic sophistication to the piece.
Designed as a gueridon (a small circular table used for decorative display or functional purposes), this table is versatile yet highly sculptural. It would serve as a standout accent in a range of spaces, from foyers and living rooms to offices or studies, blending seamlessly into interiors seeking a mix of luxury and modernist design principles.
This rare and beautifully made table is an exemplary representation of Art Deco Machine Age craftsmanship, reflecting the era's fascination with geometry, material contrasts, and industrial influences. In Mint Restored Condition.
