Project Boy Illustration by Female Illustrator of the Golden Age
-
Description
Children's Book Illustrator Lois Lenski draws a complex figural narrative in a style that is reminiscent of how her subject would draw it. She deliberately uses black and white naive stick-like figures to evoke a childlike simplicity. Signed lower right. Inscription and printer's notes outside the live area. Reproduced in the book "Project Boy" 1954 about the lives of children living in a mid-century housing project. Unframed. Condition good. There is some toning on the extreme edges of the live area. Work is executed on paper mounted to a thin board. Board size 9.5 x 6
