French 19th Century Solid Oak Louis Philippe Enfilade
-
Description
Dimensions: 36 ½” H x 62 ⅞” W x 19 ⅞” D
This French, solid oak 19th century Louis Philippe enfilade expresses great character through luminous wood tones and painterly grain patterns enlivening the rectilinear case of three drawers over three doors. The top planks have a soft texture complementing the amber tone of the wood, wearing two centuries of patina adding to the intrigue. Within the frieze is a row of three drawers using small, turned wood knobs over flush drawer fronts. Following the rhythm of the drawers is a series of three, paneled doors that represent a (divided) storage cabinet of two sections, sharing a key between two locks. The left and center doors enclose the wider compartment fitted with a stationary shelf, 39 ¼” W x 16 ⅜” D, while the shelf in the right side measures 19 ¾” W x 16” D. Shaped bracket feet elevate the case from the floor. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique buffet is sure to anchor any room and will fit many interior design aesthetics.
