Grand Paolo Buffa Cherry & Brass Wall Mirror, Mid-Century Italy, ca. 1940s
-
Description
An exquisite and grandly scaled full-length wall mirror, designed by Paolo Buffa and finely crafted in Italy during the 1940s. Measuring 32" wide by 48" high, this elegant piece features a beautifully shaped cherrywood bracket at the bottom, complemented by a charming and distinctive brass accent at the top. Remarkably, the original mirror glass has been well preserved. It has a subtly proportioned trapezoidal form with gently rounded corners, framed by a clear glass border adorned with gracefully etched decorative elements. The mirror is in very good condition. The glass is intact, with no chips or cracks. A few small black spot—typical signs of age—are present and should be appreciated as part of the mirror’s authentic patina, rather than seen as imperfections. This is a refined and stylish piece—perfect for an entryway, living room, bedroom, or even as a mantel mirror above a fireplace. It brings a touch of 1940s Italian mid-century charm and elegance to any interior.
