Description
Irena Jaworska rare miniature Jeweled mirror in bronzed gesso and resin on wood with glass and patinaed brass copper inlays. In good original condition, small scuffs to the glass. Collected in France, this piece dates of her work from mid to late 1965 - 1970. A wood backing has been added (which is easily removed) to protect the original backing. This wood preserves the backing of the piece maintaining integrity and allowing for proper hanging without damaging the original backing.
Irena Jaworska, 1925 - 2021, a Polish-born artist and jewelry designer living and working in Paris, France. A student of Line Vautrin in Paris in the 1960s, she worked independently and by hand. Her works are unsigned recognized by their distinct style, composition and materials. Winner of the Bijorka fair in Paris 1980. Bijorhca is a prominent international trade show for jewelry, watches, and fashion accessories, often held in Paris. Works of her making have been sold at auction and are considered highly collectable and sought after. -
