Carl-Axel Acking Walnut Burl and Mahogany Table, Hjalmar Jackson, Sweden, 1930s

Price Upon Request
  • Description
This very rare table was designed by Carl-Axel Acking and produced by master carpenter Hjalmar Jackson in the late 1930s. The model was first exhibited at the Hantverket Exhibition in Stockholm in 1938.

The striking design features a rectangular top with softly rounded corners and a raised apron with finely profiled edges. The tabletop is veneered in an exquisite, bookmatched walnut burl, displaying rich, mirrored grain patterns of exceptional depth. It rests on a mahogany frame with four square-section legs connected by side stretchers, lending both structural integrity and visual balance. The table functions well as either a side table or a coffee table.

The table is in overall very good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use.
