Large-scale WPA Style Painting by Chicago Artist Amelia Helper

Offered for sale is a very large and dramatic painting created in the WPA style. This overscale work is monochromatic and expertly crafted in tones of blue. The artist has captured the rugged activities of the railway workers involved in the industrial WPA style in both the figures and their movement. The upper ground shows a stream-line locomotive of the WPA era. The canvas is unframed and signed Amelia in the lower right.
