Description
Dating from the 1920s, these French Art Deco double cuff links are set with lapis, coral and diamonds. Each double link is set with an oblong high domed lapis cabochon framed by round-cut diamonds, with cabochon coral corners, mounted in platinum-topped 18K gold with millegrain accents. In arresting blue with touches of orange and white sparkle, these streamlined, bold cuff links epitomize French Deco style.
Dimensions: .5" length x .375" width
Materials: 8 cabochon corals; 2 cabochon lapis lazulis; 36 round-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 0.27 carat; platinum; platinum-topped 18K gold
During the early Art Deco period, before the return to all-white jewelry in the late 1920s, the Parisian houses employed coral, lapis and other richly colored hardstones to ornament their novel jewelry designs emphasizing strong lines and geometry. -
