Description
One of a kind, astonishing metal sculpture handforged by the renowed Austrian art metal worker Gerald Fössl. This artfully crafted large masterpiece of metal art shows the typical design language of the 20th century Art Deco era and is named "Dance of the Elements". Created during the first pandemic in 2020, this piece of art impresses with its different techniques of art-blacksmithing. Elaborately handforged, twisted columns - each standing for one of the 5 elements: fire, water, earth, wood and metal - were mounted on a round base where you can also see the engraved connection between them. All columns have additionally been adorned by small hemispheres depicting the gold leaf plated chinese characters of each element. A small globe on top connects the five columns and builds the base for the stunning worked female dancer, posing artistically with a big gold leaf plated hoop. G. Fössl´s incredible sense for art combined with his amazing skills of blacksmithing created this valuable, absolutely unique piece of art/ sculpture which can be used freestanding but would for example also look amazing in a wall niche which were very common in early 20th century Art Deco style houses.
