Description
PAIR OF LOUIS XVI STYLE ORMOLU & POLYCHROMED FIVE-LIGHT WALL SCONCES
Circa first half of the 20th century
20 3/8" H x 7" D x 12" W
A good pair of five-light wall sconces in the Louis XVI taste from the first half of the 20th century, each with urn finials hanging drapery over a tapered body with cobalt cold-painted flutes raising five curling acanthus branches that swell into candle wells over finely cast drip wells. The sconces were very carefully drilled for electricity at one point and reconverting them back to electricity would be a simple matter for a light shop.
Condition: Good original condition. Minor rubbing and wear. Originality of the cold-painting is unknown. Drilled for electricity at one point, this since removed. Ready to place.
