The butterfly's yellow and red colors are echoed in the female subject's scarf, lips, and hair. Fabry depicts a woman staring at a marvelous symbol of herself, which in turn reaffirms the wonder of her own beauty. He executes this mystical work in his signature loose, stylized style. Work is matted but unframed, signed lower right. Published on the cover. Collier's June 4, 1938.
