Description
A rare and highly sculptural Model 2438 adjustable lamp by Valinte, produced in Finland during the 1950s.
This elegant mid-century design embodies the refined minimalism of Scandinavian modern lighting, featuring a beautifully elongated brass arm paired with a crisp adjustable conical white metal shade. The lamp’s versatile construction allows it to function equally well as a table lamp or wall-mounted light, making it an exceptionally functional and architecturally expressive piece.
The brass elements retain a rich naturally aged patina that contrasts beautifully with the freshly repainted white metal components, creating a sophisticated balance between warmth and modern restraint. The elongated proportions and asymmetric silhouette give the lamp a distinctly Italian-modernist sensibility while remaining rooted in Nordic functionalism.
An especially striking and sizable example, ideal over a desk, beside a reading chair, or mounted as a sculptural bedside or gallery light.
The lamp has been professionally rewired and is ready for use. -
