Description
This exceptional table lamp was produced in Italy in the 1970s. A refined example of Italian Brutalist lighting, the design combines strong architectural lines with a more decorative, almost neo-Gothic sensibility. The lantern-like form, textured dalle de verre glass, and handcrafted brass construction reflect the material focus and studio craftsmanship associated with Italian lighting of the period.
The lamp is constructed from individually mounted glass elements in varying shades of green, in a palette reminiscent of Tuscan green glass. The textured art glass contrasts beautifully with the warm brass framework and circular oak base, giving the piece a sculptural presence both lit and unlit. When illuminated, the glass diffuses the light softly, creating a warm and atmospheric glow.
The lamp remains in good, completely original condition with a natural and even patina to the brass and wood. Currently wired for 220V use. -
