Offered for sale is a set of round Loughran soup, salad and dinner plates in greys, blacks, bone white with brick red detailing, and silver banded edges. Each possessing a unique design and each signed and dated.

Patrick Loughran (1948-) is an American ceramic artist known for his innovative, sculptural approach to the medium. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Columbia University in 1970, followed by a Master of Arts in sculpture and crafts from Teachers College in 1975.

Loughran taught ceramics at institutions across the United States, including in New York, Chicago, and New Mexico, before moving to Paris in 1991. Since then, he has become a leading figure in the French ceramics community. His work is featured in several prestigious museum collections and is held by private collectors as well.
