Description
This elegant French chandelier, dating to circa 1945, is crafted from hand-forged painted iron with a striking scrolling silhouette characteristic of mid-century French decorative ironwork. The openwork frame is finished in a rich oxblood red with gilt-highlighted acanthus leaf ornament and a carved pendant finial, creating a graceful balance between rustic craftsmanship and refined neoclassical design.
The chandelier features eight scrolling candle arms with shaped iron drip pans and brass candle sockets arranged around a decorative central standard. Intricate hand-forged scrolls and foliate motifs lend visual lightness while showcasing the quality of the ironwork. The original painted surface displays an attractive aged patina consistent with age and use.
An impressive statement fixture, well suited to traditional, Mediterranean, Spanish Revival, or French country interiors.
The wiring was cut and we have not tested this fixture. We always recommend all wiring be checked by a professional to meet standards of your area/country. -
