This 19th-century two-piece cabinet bookcase has a simple, traditional form with a softly painted, timeworn finish. The upper section features four glass-front doors with adjustable shelves and a warm, dark interior that contrasts nicely with the pale exterior. Below, four paneled doors provide generous enclosed storage, while the molded cornice and sturdy base give the piece a substantial presence. Full of age and character, it would work equally well for displaying books, dishes, or collected objects.
