Ricardo Fasanello “Ciranda” Bar Stools in Black Steel & Leather, Set of Three

A rare set of three Ciranda bar stools designed by Ricardo Fasanello in 1986. Sculptural and architecturally precise, the design reflects Fasanello’s disciplined exploration of pure geometry, structural balance and the expressive potential of industrial materials.

Each stool is composed of a slender black-painted carbon-steel column rising from a broad circular base. A horizontal tubular footrest intersects the central support, introducing a simple graphic gesture while reinforcing the design’s linear rhythm. The solid disc base provides stability and visual weight, balancing the remarkable lightness of the upright structure.

The circular seats retain their original black leather upholstery. Gently padded and subtly crowned, they soften the rigorous steel construction with tactile warmth and comfort. The tonal continuity of black leather and blackened steel gives the stools a unified, quietly dramatic presence.

Fasanello’s work consistently blurred the boundaries between furniture, sculpture and engineering. The Ciranda stool embodies this philosophy through an economy of line that feels both reductive and expressive—minimal in construction yet commanding in silhouette.

The set has been professionally restored and remains in good condition, preserving the original leather upholstery.
