Description
With the Baisity chaise lounge, Antonio Citterio created an extraordinary piece of furniture in the 1980s that embodies his typical combination of architectural clarity, supreme comfort, and timeless elegance. For the Italian premium manufacturer B&B Italia, he designed a lounge chair characterized by its striking, minimalist design language and sophisticated material combination. Characteristic features include the generous, deeply upholstered leather pad, the solid cylindrical armrest, and the elegantly curved metal bracket, which gives the chaise lounge its distinctive silhouette. To this day, the Baisity series is one of Antonio Citterio's sought-after designs and exemplifies the high-quality Italian furniture design of the 1980s.
The chaise lounge offered here is in excellent original condition. The black leather of the generous pad and the loose back cushion is exceptionally soft, supple, and free of damage. The leather-covered frame also presents excellently and shows only minimal, age-related signs of wear. The characteristic metal brackets have a slight, authentic patina on the underside, which underlines the original condition and subtly emphasizes its special vintage character. Overall, the furniture impresses with an exceptionally well-maintained appearance.
Particularly pleasing is the existing original B&B Italia branding, which further confirms the authenticity of this exclusive design icon.
A rare opportunity to acquire an original collector's item by Antonio Citterio – ideal for sophisticated living spaces, design collectors, or high-end interior projects. The Baisity chaise lounge combines exceptional lounging comfort with a sculptural presence and makes an impressive statement as a solitary piece in modern and classic interiors. -
