Born in Boston, Selinger studied at the Lowell Institute and moved to Germany to train under Wilhelm Leibl at the Munich Academy. Along with his wife Emily, a celebrated floral painter, he traveled throughout Europe and New England, opening studios in Boston, Providence, and New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
