Description
An elegant pair of mid-century modern Italian Venetian glass table lamps, crafted in Venice, Italy, during the mid-20th century. Each lamp features a beautifully mouth-blown Venetian glass body in an unusual ice-purple ground, richly infused with delicate gold flecks that shimmer across the surface and highlight the exceptional craftsmanship of the glassmaker. The lamps have a particularly graceful and slender silhouette, with tall tapered bodies and elongated necks rising from round gilt brass bases. The combination of the soft purple glass, sparkling gold fleck decoration, and warm gilt brass creates a sophisticated and luxurious appearance while retaining the clean, elegant character associated with Italian mid-century design.
Each lamp stands approximately 39 1/2 inches high to the top of the finial and measures 7 inches in diameter. The accompanying linen/silk shades measure approximately 16 inches long and 14 inches in diameter. Their tall, slender proportions make them particularly well suited for placement on a console, sideboard, pair of end tables, bedroom nightstands, or in a living room or entryway.
Both lamps are in great working condition and have been rewired to U.S. electrical standards. No special light bulb is required. The beautifully handmade and mouth-blown glass bodies display the individuality and subtle variations characteristic of fine Venetian glass production. A striking pair of Italian decorative lamps combining elegant mid-century proportions, hand-blown Venetian glass, shimmering gold flecks, and refined gilt brass bases. -
