Giltwood Corinthian Column Pedestal

Offered by: Joshua Smith Home & Design

Description
This Baroque-style, hand-carved wooden pedestal features a dramatic spiral twisted column and an ornate Corinthian-style capital. These were frequently used as decorative ecclesiastical or domestic pedestals. The surface features a particularly captivating textured patina, with areas of red bole visible under the time-worn gilding that accentuate its dramatic and authentic character. The column rests on a molded square base and is intended as an ornamental element: perfect as a pedestal for a sculpture, an important vase, or simply as an architectural presence within a contemporary setting.
