André Kertész
Hungarian, 1894 - 1985
Hungarian-born American photographer André Kertész is known for magazine photography in Look, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. He was born in 1894 in Budapest, Hungary and after being wounded during WW1, he moved to Paris to work as freelance photographer. Later he moved to New York City and published photos in magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. He retired from commerical work in 1962 and continued personal projects until his passing in 1985.
