Axel Vervoordt

Belgian
Axel Vervoordt (b. 1947)  is a Belgian art dealer, collector, and interior designer who is known for his minimalist and timeless approach to design. He began his career as an art dealer in the 1970s, specializing in antiquities, before branching out into contemporary art and design.

Vervoordt's design philosophy is centered around the idea of creating harmony and balance between the natural and the man-made. He emphasizes the use of natural materials, such as wood, stone, and linen, and the importance of light and space in creating a sense of tranquility and serenity in a space. He is known for his use of muted, earthy colors and his ability to mix antiques with contemporary pieces to create a unique and timeless look.

Vervoordt has worked on numerous high-profile projects around the world, including the renovation of the Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, the restoration of the Castle of 's-Gravenwezel in Belgium, and the design of the Axel Vervoordt Gallery in Hong Kong. He has also authored several books on art, design, and philosophy, including "Wabi Inspirations," "Timeless Interiors," and "Living with Light."
