Brigitte Bardot is a French actress, singer, and fashion model who rose to international fame in the 1950s and 1960s. She was born on September 28, 1934, in Paris, France.
 
Bardot began her career as a model in the late 1940s, and in the 1950s she turned to acting, starring in numerous French films. Her breakthrough role came in the 1956 film "And God Created Woman", directed by Roger Vadim, which propelled her to international stardom. Bardot's beauty and sensuality made her a sex symbol of the era, and she became known for her distinctive style and signature blonde hair.
 
During her career, Bardot appeared in over 40 films, including "Contempt" (1963), directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and "Viva Maria!" (1965), directed by Louis Malle. She also had a successful music career, recording several albums and scoring hit singles in France.
 
In addition to her work in entertainment, Bardot was known for her animal rights activism, and in 1986 she founded the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals. She retired from acting in 1973, but remains an enduring icon of French cinema and a symbol of feminine beauty and glamour.
