Djivan Schapira
French, 1994
Djivan Schapira (b. 1993, France) is a French-born, New Jersey–based artist and designer renowned for his collectible, resin-infused furniture and functional artworks. A former architecture student at Parsons School of Design, Schapira apprenticed under his master-craftsman father for over 15 years, honing woodworking and material skills that shaped his signature aesthetic. In his twenties, he began experimenting with resin combinations—embedding wood cross-cuts, pinecones, and botanical elements—to create richly layered, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Since launching his own atelier in New Jersey, Schapira has produced bespoke furniture and interior objects for high-end designers in hospitality and luxury retail, including Louis Vuitton, Waldorf Astoria, the Hoxton LA, and a summer exhibit at Bergdorf Goodman via Todd Merrill Studio. His debut solo show, “Au Bout Du Bois,” opened in February 2022 in Chelsea, leading to representation by Todd Merrill Studio and features in Architectural Digest, Design Milk, Vogue, Interior Design Magazine, Dezeen, and Surface Magazine. Accolades include the 2019 A’ Design Award (Andromeda Cocktail Table), NYCxDESIGN’s 2022 Emerging Product Designer of the Year and People’s Choice Awards, and Best Furniture Design at NYCxDESIGN 2023.
