Ingrid Atterberg

Swedish, 1920 - 2008
Ingrid Atterberg (1920-2008) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer. She studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
 
Atterberg was known for her innovative and functional designs, which often incorporated clean lines and simple shapes. She worked with a variety of materials, including ceramics, glass, and textiles, and her work ranged from decorative objects to industrial design.
 
Atterberg's ceramic pieces were particularly notable, with many of her designs featuring bold, abstract patterns and bright, vibrant colors. She was influenced by traditional Swedish design as well as by the modernist movement, and her work helped to shape the look and feel of Scandinavian design in the mid-twentieth century.
 
Atterberg's work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, and she received numerous awards and honors over the course of her career. She was also a highly respected teacher and mentor, and she played an important role in the development of modern ceramic design in Sweden.
