Jacques Charpentier

Jacques Charpentier (1918–1986) was a French decorator and designer who graduated from the prestigious École Boulle in 1945 and founded his Paris-based workshop soon after. His prolific career in the 1960s and 1970s saw him design bold furniture and lighting pieces using materials like stainless steel and leather, often associated with the Space Age aesthetic. Charpentier collaborated with prominent firms including Flat International and Maison Jansen on interior design projects. His studio employed nearly sixty staff by the end of the 1970s and continues to be recognized for its craftsmanship and innovative design.
