Description
An elegant English Edwardian circa 1905 polished steel and iron fire grate in Robert Adam Georgian style of rectangular form with cast iron fireback having original earthenware insulator, basket with slotted iron bottom and fronted with steel horizontal double guard bars joined by plain uprights with urn finials surmounting 'flat-scrolled' 'fender' with elaborate 'cutwork' flanking center 'tablet' engraved with beribboned bellflower chain festoon and bottom high-relief bead-chain ending in tapered fluted square uprights with urn finials. Fireback alone measures 20.75" wide.
