Description
An exceptional antique German porcelain decorative vase, crafted in 1874 by the renowned Royal Bonn porcelain manufactory. This exquisite piece exemplifies the refined artistry and craftsmanship for which Royal Bonn became celebrated, featuring beautifully hand-painted figural scene of musketeer enhanced by elegant gilt decoration.
The vase displays an unusual and highly decorative form, with a rounded body resting on a circular base and adorned with two gracefully integrated side handles. Finished in a rich burnt orange ground, the porcelain provides a warm and striking backdrop for the finely hand-painted oval reserve scenes depicting gallant musketeer in period attire. The detailed figural compositions capture the charm and romance of 17th-century life, while showcasing the exceptional skill and attention to detail of the artist.
Fine gilt accents beautifully highlight the handles, rim, foot, and decorative borders, adding depth and elegance to the vibrant orange porcelain. The harmonious combination of the distinctive silhouette, richly colored ground, hand-painted figural decoration, and refined gilding makes this a remarkable example of 19th-century Royal Bonn porcelain and a wonderful addition to any collection of European decorative arts.
The vase retains its original maker's mark and firm's seal stamp underneath, confirming its Royal Bonn origin. Equally suited as a standalone statement piece or displayed on a mantel, console, cabinet, or within a distinguished porcelain collection, it offers timeless elegance and historical appeal.
Measuring 12.5 inches high, 10.25 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep, this antique Royal Bonn porcelain vase is in great antique condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. -
