Decorative Antti Hakkarainen Torchére / Birdbath in Wrought Iron and Copper
-
Description
A beautiful torchére piece by the leading metal and wrought iron master Antti Hakkarainen made through his metal workshop Taidetakomo A. Hakkarainen.
This candle holder is very rare and combines an iron decorative stand with a copper dish to collect the motel wax. The brilliant design is made so that it can be used as a bird drinking cup and bath stand with the center used to fix bird feed for the summer when candles are rarely used. You can’t get more functional than this.
The candleholder is in absolute original condition with a beautiful patina on both the iron and copper. A simple beauty for your home and garden.
Antti Hakkarainen was a master metal worker and designer and his prominent company Taidetakomo A. Hakkarainen was one of the main competitors to Taito, later Idman and Orno, especially in domestic lighting although they did a few public projects. The company had a range of top Finnish designers working and commissioning lamps and other furniture there. -
