Art Deco Pink Glass Vase by Daum, French Art Glass, Gold Accents, 1925

Description
A French Art Deco art glass, this substantial vase is executed in a rich, mottled pink hue, deepening toward the base into smoky, shadowed tones that give the piece real depth and atmosphere. The ovoid body rises to a gently flared neck, flanked by a pair of graceful, curved handles worked in a contrasting jade green glass — a bold chromatic pairing that sets the piece apart. The vase stands on a matching jade green foot, its swirled, marbled coloring echoing the handles above and grounding the composition.

The pink body is further embellished with scattered gold-leaf applications, irregular flecks of gilding applied directly to the surface of the glass, catching the light with a warm, textural glow against the smooth pink ground. The vase is raised on a rounded, bulbous foot in the same jade green glass, its swirling internal coloration adding movement and visual interest to the base.
