Rare large ceramic Art deco round box by Faïenceries et Emaux de Longwy made around 1940. This beautiful box features a colourful bird surrounded by foliage on a light blue sky, with Longwy's signature craquelure glaze, enhanced with 21 carat gold. The Longwy manufacture has hundreds of years of tradition, their golden age is clearly the 1920s and 1940s when the cloisonné technique reached a creative Art deco peak. A collectible piece, with a wonderful decorative presence, found in a very good vintage condition. Perfect as a gift, it can be used as a ring or jewellery box.
