Description
Murano Art glass sculpture by Licio Zanetti, "Birds In Flight". Beautifully handmade art glass sculpture by a master. The seagulls are life like in their positions moving freely amidst the sky. The birds can be turned to create different angles. The birds can also be switched to either pedestal this will create a completely different sculpture with the height of the sculpture increasing and the width decreasing at 33H x 26W x 16D As in main image. The birds will appear to be in a dance, see picture. Zanetti captures details to the body forms and the his mix of coloring is sensational. White bodies, with black eyes and heads, clear glass surrounds the wings with white centers with some hints of sea foam green on the backs. Each bird is mounted onto a brass plate then attatched to gilt iron pedestals in a wave or scroll shape. An exceptional piece by Licio Zanetti, Italy 1970's.
Licio Zanetti, was the first of the Zanetti's to become a master artist in glass, followed by his son and grandson who are still active Murano glass artisans working today. Zanetti Murano is a true family-run business. Founded in 1956 by Licio and handed down father to son for four generations. As a result Zanetti Murano has become one of the most important furnaces on Murano. -
