Description
This Art Nouveau vase was produced in Belgium circa 1910. It bears an impressed BELGIUM mark on the lower body, a characteristic export designation associated with Belgian art pottery produced for international markets during the early 20th century.
The vase is defined by its striking tri-handled form, with a rounded body and broad flared neck. It is finished in a richly variegated green glaze, ranging from deep emerald tones to lighter green hues. The mottled surface has a distinctly organic character, recalling the natural forms and textures that were a major source of inspiration for Art Nouveau designers. In places, the glaze develops an almost frogskin- or cucumber-like texture. The quality of the glaze application is particularly noteworthy, evident in the subtle variations of tone and surface.
The vase remains in very good, completely original condition, showing only minor signs of age and use. -
