Massive Horse Sculpture Crafted From 1000 Chrome Coat Hangers for Barneys NY
-
Description
This Monumental Horse sculpture was created for Barney's New York when the new Saudi investors rebranded their Flagship stores across the country in 2006. It was a collaboration between the artistic director Simon Doonan and New York Artist Terence Gower. A unique sculpture was fabricated from heavy gauge custom chrome-plated steel coat hangers for each location. The horse was created for the Dallas Texas location and is comprised of 1000 hangers. It is the largest and most elaborate of the installations and stood for many years in the women's couture collection overlooking a custom glass and bronze spiral staircase by artist Jean Paul Philippe. The artist captured the spirit of the horse in this amazing sculpture. The true beauty and magnitude of this piece is hard to conceive without experiencing it in person.
