Description
An exquisite early 20th-century Tiffany Studios Favrile glass bud vase, created by Tiffany Studios circa 1920 and showcasing the remarkable iridescent qualities and organic forms that characterize the firm's celebrated Favrile glass. The vase features an elegant ribbed body rising to a gracefully flared rim, with a beautifully luminous gold art glass surface displaying an intense iridescent fuchsia coloration accented by strong golden tones and shifting highlights of green and blue.
The ribbed form beautifully captures and reflects the changing colors across the surface, creating a dynamic, jewel-like appearance that varies with the surrounding light. The combination of the slender bud-vase silhouette, flared rim, richly iridescent surface, and finely worked glass makes this a particularly appealing example of Tiffany Studios' early 20th-century Favrile production.
The vase is etched underneath “L.C.T. Favrile” and numbered “C2114,” identifying it with the Tiffany Studios Favrile glass production. Measuring approximately 5 1/2 inches high, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep, its petite scale makes it ideal for displaying as a standalone object or incorporating into a collection of Tiffany Favrile glass. The vase is in great antique condition, without chips, cracks, or repairs, with minor wear consistent with age and use. Its exceptional iridescence, elegant form, and original Tiffany Studios markings make it a beautiful and highly decorative example of American Art Nouveau glass. -
