Description
This well-woven NW Persian city carpet in a subtle "book cover" pattern displays a lightly scalloped cream-straw ogival medallion enclosing radiating palmettes on cartouche shaped field and extended corners, both in related, but not identical, allover Herati designs. Navy strip-style main border with large botehs and small cypresses. Innermost near black plain surround. Upright pile, cotton foundation.
