This finely woven SE Persian city carpet shows a shaped and indented ecru-beige semi-open field centered by an octogramme filigree medallion with eight floral pendants and a 16 point sub-medallion. Cochineal read volute corners with emerging carnations and corner ogival cartouches with whole flowers. Ivory main border with rosettes and palmettes and a double forked acanthus scrollerie. Cotton foundation. Good condition on this splendid, characteristic antique carpet.
