Description
This finely woven interwar capital city carpet features a ruby field displaying a variant on the "Garrus" forked arabesque allover pattern. Here the arabesques are done in navy and sand. The Bidjar theme continues into the light blue border with escutcheons, bows and ragged convex leaves. A clever and artistic variation on an iconic design theme. Crisp palette, short and upright pile. Good condition.
