Brussels or Flemish tapestry fragment depicting the 'Death of Adonis' or 'Venus Mourning Adonis' with Venus (Aphrodite) holding the dying Adonis with Cupid and putto attributed to designer Jan van Orley, circa 1710 ; cut from a larger work circa 1930 when wool edge banded and silk backed with hanging rings.
