-
Description
A beautiful round striped terracotta bowl, designed by Aldo Londi, handcrafted from ceramic by the Italian manufacturer Bitossi Ceramiche in the 1960s. The bowl features six horizontal bands, shiny glazed in yellow, orange, red, brown and black with the colors thoughtfully coordinated to achieve a harmonious aesthetic. It is signed “8513 Italy” on the underside and in very good condition. We are offering a matching ball vase in our other listings.
Bitossi Ceramiche was founded in 1921 by Guido Bitossi in Montelupo Fiorentino, an Italian region rich in ceramic tradition. A pivotal moment in the company’s history came in 1946 with the appointment of Aldo Londi as artistic director. Londi brought a fresh creative vision and introduced the iconic "Rimini Blu" series, known for its vibrant blue hues and intricately handcrafted patterns that became a hallmark of Bitossi. -
