Emilia Castillo Taxco Porcelain Sterling Silver Swan Teapot, Signed & Numbered

$ 3,850
  • Description
    An exceptionally sculptural and highly collectible vintage teapot designed and handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico by celebrated silversmith Emilia Castillo, daughter of master silversmith Antonio Castillo. This rare functional work of art masterfully combines cream porcelain with hand-finished sterling and pure silver details, creating a museum-worthy example of late 20th century Mexican design.

    Conceived in the form of an elegant swan, this remarkable piece is as functional as it is sculptural. The gracefully rising tail serves as the ergonomic handle, while tea or coffee is poured through a discreet opening integrated into the bird’s sterling silver beak—an ingenious marriage of artistry, utility, and biomorphic design that defines Emilia Castillo’s most sought-after works.

    The sculptural body is executed in richly glazed cream porcelain, beautifully contrasted by hand-applied sterling and pure silver elements including the articulated beak, engraved feather motifs, expressive eyes, and whimsical bird-form finial. Every angle reveals thoughtful craftsmanship and the unmistakable influence of Taxco’s world-renowned silversmithing tradition.

    The underside retains its original hand-signed silver hallmark:

    "Emilia Castillo, Plata Pura, Mexico, M.R., No. 12"

    An extraordinary statement piece for collectors of Mexican modernism, organic modern interiors, luxury tabletop objects, and museum-quality decorative arts. Ideal for interior designers, collectors, and specifiers seeking authentic Taxco silver, Emilia Castillo porcelain, sculptural teapots, artisan serving pieces, and investment-grade Latin American design.
