French Framed Still-Life Watercolor Signed Jacques Redelsperger, circa 1887
-
Description
A French framed still-life watercolor from the late 19th century, signed Jacques Redelsperger and dedicated in the back. Created in France during the last quarter of the 19th century, this framed watercolor depicts mouth-watering fruits, a brioche and a glass, filled with a brown liquid (perhaps coffee) ready to be stirred with a spoon. Standing out on a neutral grey background, this scene captures the frontal light beautifully. Signed Jacques Redelsperger lower left and set inside a carved giltwood frame, the watercolor showcases a gratitude note written by the artist to a Madame Larigue in the back, dated April 5th, 1887. With its skillful depiction and soft colors, this 19th century watercolor will enliven any wall beautifully, perhaps hung above a buffet, side table or chest-of-drawers.
