    Here for your consideration is a very well executed original oil on canvas still life painting of tulips by the well known French artist, Georges Marchou. Signed lower right. Condition is very good; no issues. Circa 1950. Bright, vibrant colors. Framed in a modern gold frame with white linen liner. Overall measurements are 24.5 by 30 inches.

    Biography: Georges Marchou
    Painter from Bordeaux, France. Student of Ernest Laurent at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Influenced by works by Gauguin, Sérusier, Vuillard, Bonnard and Van Gogh (Source Bénézit) -

    This painter was considered by some to be the last of the Fauves because of this palette and a gift for evoking humaneness. Marchou was influenced by the group called the Nabis.
