Description
This is a parody portrait of the famed Duke of Urbino, Federico da Montefeltro, by Piero della Francesca, in the Uffizi Galleries in Florence. Hispanic Illustrator Ignacio Gomez painted it for Playboy Magazine to illustrate an article on "Working" by Laurence Gonzalez.
Botero also created his own version of the famed painting. Besides the subject matter of the painting, what is noteworthy is that this is an example of a "Hispanic Illustrator," Ignacio Gomez, doing brilliant work in the mid-1970s for one of the most prominent magazines. Signed lower left. Condition is excellent and framed in a metal period frame size 22 x 18 x 1.5 -
