Luis Amendolla (Mexican 1939-2000) Watercolor Village Landscape, Signed

Atmospheric Mexican watercolor landscape by Luis Ricardo Amendolla Gasparo (1939–2000), depicting a picturesque rural village built along a rocky stream, with whitewashed adobe architecture, terracotta-tiled roofs, lush vegetation and a dramatic stone arched bridge.

Amendolla renders the scene with a confident watercolor technique, combining precisely articulated architectural passages with softer, expressive washes throughout the surrounding hills, foliage and water. The contrast between the crisp white buildings, saturated blue-green stream and earthy tiled roofs gives the composition considerable depth and luminosity.

The work is signed “Amendolla S.M.A.” at the lower right in the artist's distinctive stylized signature. The reverse retains biographical material documenting Amendolla's exhibition history, awards and gallery representation. A Carlisle Gallery label is also present on the reverse. The watercolor has not been inspected outside of the frame.

Born in Mexico City, Amendolla studied in Mexico, Italy and Spain. The biographical material accompanying the work records exhibitions in Mexico and throughout the United States, including California, Arizona, Texas, New York, Nevada and Wisconsin, as well as multiple watercolor awards and honors.
