Brave Cowboy Bill Little Golden Book Original 2-Page Illustration

Creator: Richard Scarry
Offered by: Robert Funk Fine Art

Description
Little Benny-like character, Brave Cowboy Bill, is shown in profile as he triumphantly ropes, rounds up, and gets the guns of three nasty bandit bank robbers. He delivers them to the sheriff, who cheers joyfully, standing in front of the jail. Legendary children's book illustrator Richard Scarry creates a dual, simple yet sophisticated design and storyline for a child's audience. The narrative plays to the fantasy of every young American boy in the 1950s. More westerns were made in the 1950s than at any other time. So, just like in the movies, the young reader/viewer could live out his fantasy and be a big, brave hero. Unsigned, Unframed, Published: Brave Cowboy Bill Little Golden Book #93 Original 2-Page Illustration (Simon & Schuster, 1950, "Of all the hands on the Bar H Ranch, the bravest was brave Cowboy Bill."
