In "Manhattan Window Reflections," a typically bland grey street scene is transformed into a vivid patchwork of color with depth and luminosity. On close inspection, the viewer notices faces and figures dispersed among the fields of color. Funk is a keen observer of his surroundings and translates his photographic vision into stunningly complex visual images.

As an undergrad in painting, he studied with great teachers such as first-generation abstract expressionist Robert Richenburg and hyper-realist painter Janet Fish. In Graduate School he worked with famed critic E.C. Goossen and went on to work as a Photographer, New York Advertising Art Director, and Art Collector.
