Description
A delightful Empire style fruitwood buffet, made in France circa 1850. This wonderful antique buffet is teeming with Provincial charm. The solid antique fruitwood is beautifully patinated and an unusual wood for an Empire style piece. A single drawer features two circular brass pulls, a crest shaped escutcheon, and functioning lock.
Two paneled doors lock before an interior compartment that has been outfitted with a single adjustable drawer. The doors are hung on hidden hinges and contain a working lock surrounded by stylized palm motif escutcheons. Column forms with decorative brass capitals and bases flank the doors.
